W. of Niakarnat the dark series falls rapidly and is soon lost to sight in the cliffs just over of therey over of Niakarnut, i.e. about 6om. from N. where teta- salts are in great abundance forming talroliffs, with red streaks of brick color on them. Agates or chalcedony also present, during this part of the route the fertility is much increased by the first fall of snow, which covers the mts above 900'-1000' A.T. Some distance E. of Niakarnasutk the light tuffs teds appear in sections. Back of these are away from Niakarnasutk to Alianatsupunk are precipitous walls of dark greenish or rusty brown tussalt about 2000' vertical from which cascade streams. Cretaceous shows along coast for more than one mile west, from Aliantingvak, capped by basaltic pre. cipituous formations. Rocks = buff ss, and eras. dips at our 10° E. Over one mile is exposed. Probably 200' is exposed. At Alianatsupunk the tussalt comes down to tidal level. Lower part of series dark sandy sh and erus, at our 200 ss buff. The dark series may be 200' thick and at our are perhaps or 300 buff sh, ss, and then eras and Shanks, as well as clints eras. (my obsone)
