71 Gerbil - (Ovamboland) Family: Genus species: Serial numbers: 30 At Oshibango on the border of Angola in Ovamboland, the gerbil can be found in great numbers. The land here is flat, sandy, and covered fairly open. Large trees do not grow here and much. The gerbil seems To prefer to make its burrow in the fields of the Ovambos. They live in great abun d with inter-connecting tunnels. Have never seen them about in daylight. They will travel some distances at night in their foraging activities.
