Sam has instructions to wake us at any hour in the early morning. Aug 24-97 Tuesday Aianaitaunguak. Arose this morning at 3 and had breakfast at 3.30. By 5 we were away for Atane is miles east. It froze hard during the night and in spite of the fact that the day is clear it was cold. Chorem traveled in camp. There was little wind and the sea quite smooth. Under these circumstances we made good time with the strong pulling from crew of four eskimoos and Sam. At 10.30 we were at Atane. See other book for White's account.
