Lange Rock in his best of Greenland, 1935
Denies this and says we are in error,
see earlier statement
and milk has all intertruded.
In the evening preparad to move camp in
the morning.
Today saw three pieces of drift on the
beach. All had been seen by the Inuits who thy
placed high up out of reach of the sea.
The day is clouded but the air is a
little warmer so that the temperature is not so
cold as yesteray.
In front from camp are a number of ice
bergs and one is going to piece. At sunset time
the whole camp rolling about
are all put out to sea just before fall calm
came and went in a great wave but it fails to
come. The bergs rolled and rocked like a ship
in a stormy sea.
Aug 18-97 Wednesday. Near Danmark.
Arose at 6 A.M. preparatory to moving camp.
Left this place on a splendid mild sunny day at
8.30 for Hiacornak. Arrived all the way.
About half way to Hiacornak, the upper
basalt shows two distinct dishes of bashionated
studly cut with a jagged or serrated edge.
In the hills to the west of Route Campment.
