Aug. 19 - Sunday Slibestorfeld-Gigarantonsur
Had breakfast at 8 volon. At 11.30 White and
I go east along the river while Mr. Stosky goes to
climb one of neighboring cliffs.
Collected Ature plants all the morning while
Mr. White went further east to the same 'large fault'
dike from our camp. From this same dike I have a
sample one from the third or yellow dike, The fossils
from this 'middle Slibestorfeld locality' are far better
than the 'western Slibestorfeld locality'. Mr. White
collected quite a large lot in the morning.
In the afternoon Mr. White made a rough
section of the strata along the river from our tent to
about four miles east. Both of us looked for fossils
east of the fault and found some which seem to
indicate stone beds.

About the center of the exposure the strata
of the western half rapidly turns up and almost stands
on end. To the east of this place the strata
are nearly horizontal but dipping slightly north. There may be a fault at
this place but I decided one could not see it.
