saw it out that he would get sail before
early Monday morning. Mr. Kite and I
then returning to the Palmer House where
we met the strange captain. From
Luit Perry came in and informed us
that we should be ready early Monday
morning, with a little calculation on the
cart of Capt. Bartlett or Luit Perry the
delay could have been foreseen. We have
lost 36 valuable hours and two dollars
in expenses. It is the thundering methods of New-
foundland sailors.
July 18 - 1897. Boston, Sunday,
At 10.30 A.M. Mr. Kite and I took
a steamer for Nantasket where we enjoyed
the cool sea breeze and the wind. We
also had a good shore dinner. Return
to Boston by 6.45 P.M.
