Sep. 28 Sunday, Rome Ga. Write letters in the morning. Walked about in the evening and left at 5.30 P.M. for Piedmont. Stopped over night here. Sep. 29-1902 Monday Frog Mt. Left the hotel with a trussy at 7 A.M. Found the Frog Ont sandstone beside the trail at Darford Springs beneath a heavy reddish blue streaked sheet. In the sheet saw a large closely coiled closely septate nautiloid. Also a few crinoid columns. Could not determine the age of this sheet. As he considerably of coarse inclurant sand- stone but saw no trace of life there are many holes in the sandstone but these have no definite shape and probably represent pieces of shale knocked away or animal portions broken up on the beach,
