about nine miles S.E. / Rome.
with a buggy drove this morning to Chumbucker.
Between the houses of the valley, there is a road down
to [illegible] Mills about ½ mile distant and on the banks
(Chumbucker calls it Armadale bridge)
of Lavender Creek.
Just opposite the mill are
in a quarry at the creek bridge
beside the road to O'Sheas gap, may be seen the
following section. Strata nearly horizontal.
