Towns the E. or the station can be seen the entire range standing in edge. The entire mass may be thinner here since the E of is a very small one. The following can be seen from the station. ? Monticury <--E.n.S.E. Alexandria R.R and James River A Eagle Int St. J.H. South about 2 miles we find exposures A the Kenardock along the river followed by a fine synclinal fold, The country is at first quite hilly but as one approaches Springboro the country resembles the Staunton area. Transferred from the C.S.O. to G.W.R.R. at Richmond. Stopped at Boretot hotel for dinner until 3.15 on the train south. Arrived at East Radford at 6 P.M. Stopped at the Hotel Armwood. Will leave to morning at 10.45 A.M. for Pearisbuy, Thursday Sep. 18-1902 E. Radford After breakfast walked N. along railroad for 1/2 mile and viewed the following section.
