Slides examined in Paris Smitina ___ looked at various stages of egg development from initial cleavage stages, follicle stages, 4-cell, 8-cell, 16-cell + also 2-cell. In ovicell initial "invagination" differentiation of "internal sac" Note no digestive tract etc in 3 "genera" with cyphonate larvae. After "internal sac" forms this cements to become the basal wall. In morula stage you could see nucleation of cells from crown and still some syncitial?? cells (ie. cells w/ nuclei but not separate wall membranes) Eggs do not occur in ovaries. They can be massed together in funiculus & display characteristic follicle stage. In looking at larvae in ovicell, the pseudopores (in anascans these pores are called ↓ ) are aligned around the ovicell & show deeply stained nuclei, can 8 - this is distinctive of pseudopores. See Cyclostomata, pores likewise in this group have a distinctive stain.
