Great hematoxylin - spines develop proximally in Membranipora membranacea. As polypide buds some epithelial cells are elevated and any elevated epithelial cells are places of budding +,; spines develop. 8-10 zoecia / day. Average of 5 zoecia per day with several levels of developing polypides.
