Slides examined (cont.) 1) Bacterial gland attached to brown body. Bicellaria _______. In this species the polypide is not regenerated. The polypide lives 3 weeks + has rapid growth resulting in extensive colonies. Bacteria have no nuclei +, & generally appear colourless & naturally not taking any nuclear stain. You need to isolate bacteria to establish if the it is bacterial gland using bacterial agashes? 2) Elnatra, Regeneration of polypides. As one moves to proximal part of colony you find 3 sets of regenerated regeneration to 3iol regenerated polypide + 2 sets of brown bodies in the zooid. Also note sperm + eggs. 3) Spermatozoa develop on walls of Hmbonula. Guellet (who worked in CNRS lab, 1952-60.) studied spermatid development but GL uncertain where information was published. Spermatozoa are generally on lateral walls in funiculus.
