Vestibular gland comes off the diaphragm
Bacterial gland (or bacterial organ) in
Juniculus. Vestibular gland secretes
mucous + ...; call it a gland; however,
later G.L. differentiated bacteria "glands"
because of mucins secreted.
4) Vestibular gland + bacterial gland +
spermatozooids + spermatogonites in
Parmuecellaria. Vestibular gland is
contorted. Bacterial gland below
vestibular gland.
5) Bugula - spermatozooids + eggs in 1.
6) Beania mirabilis - bacterial gland in
Juniculus. Stages of bacterial
encystment in lumen. Slide shows
changes in cell + in bacteria as encystment
progresses - these cysts have been
mistaken for ovaries. B. mirabilis is very
difficult to get in dredgings + v. difficult to stain.
