Sunday, Sept. 16.
8. looked at setae (long whips) of vibracula
& examined base of vibracula which looks
just like an avicularium in outline.
9. We got to discussing diaphragm
which goes across at base of tentacular
sheath. G. could not remember if Bugula
had a diaphragm.
G. did note that stenostome
diaphragm seemed different to cheil.
(am I remembering this detail correctly)
10. How many layers are there in
peritoneum. G. says this is a real
problem.
11. G. says there is epithelial peritoneum
& peritoneal tissue lining digestive
tract. This far she is willing to go in
identifying relationship of peritoneum.
12. The problem of chitinous joints in
such spp. as Scyphozellaria. The chitin
has a laminati structure acc. to G.
13. Funiculus goes across pore plates (called
= rosettes by Bobin) Hence Chetham is
suggesting diaphragm be dropped as a
structure near 'vestibule'.
