Wednesday,
Deer Palm Beach, Jan 16, 1935
At 11:20 A.M. met Prof. Chittenden
in the second section of the Florida Special
and from there we traveled to this place.
Left here at 4:30 P.M. and put up at the
Henry Regal Hotel. Room #302 Sunday.
Too late to see much of the town. Narrow
one streets. Town old, a new park,
On my left, from left to right.
The Floridian landscape due to the
flatness of the land, and its mountains
(ignorable pine is rather monotonous). As
we come south flowers appear and at Dr.
Palm Beach we see the usual Florida
introduced plants. Orange groves thick to the
north. Our hotel is in the midst of a
Coconut forest and all the trees are heavy
with nuts. The smaller hotels are even on the
ocean front.
