Indeed, they have\nbuilt these viaducts of stone and steel\nwith such a speed and in such pro-\nportions that the entire job, which was\nonce deemed too great to be done in\none year, has been brought to an end\nwithin two years.\nBut such extreme wind crept up\ninto the seating area slowly. And as\nthe train approached the bridge, it was\njudged necessary to reduce its speed to\n10 miles per hour. The engineer's\nsafety of the passengers and crew, and\nthe safety of the bridge were paramount\nin his mind.\nThis railway is attached to the\nMiami Beach Hotel and will be open\nto the public from April 1st. It will\nbe a great attraction for tourists and visitors\nfrom all parts of the country. The\nentire line, including the bridges, is\nbeing constructed by the Florida East\nCoast Railway Company.\nOn an additional precaution for safe-\nty, no train is permitted to run over\nthe bridge at a speed exceeding 10\nmiles per hour. The engineers are\nalso instructed to exercise extreme care\nwhen approaching the bridge, and any\nviolation of this rule will be severely\npunished.\nIn order to ensure the safety of the\npassengers and crew, the train is\nrequired to stop at a designated point\non the bridge, where a signalman will\nbe stationed to give the all-clear sign\nbefore allowing the train to proceed.\nMr. Flagler has already completed\nthe first section of the railway, which\nextends from Miami Beach to Key West.\nHe is now engaged in constructing the\nsecond section, which will connect the\ntwo ends of the island. This section\nis expected to be completed by next\nyear.\nMr. Flagler has also announced his\nintention to build a new hotel on the\nisland, which will be named after him.\nThe hotel will be constructed of marble\nand will be equipped with all modern\namenities, including electric lighting,\nrunning water, and telephones.\nIt is expected that the hotel will\nattract many visitors from all parts of\nthe country, and will become a popular\ndestination for tourists and vacationers.\nThe railway will also provide con-\nvenient access to the island, and will\nmake it easier for tourists to reach their\ndestinations.\nMr. Flagler has already completed\nthe first section of the railway, which\nextends from Miami Beach to Key West.\nHe is now engaged in constructing the\nsecond section, which will connect the\ntwo ends of the island.
