Saturday August 23, continued As the Barre ls (= Helduvyian and Ordovician into Schlaric time of the Middle Devonian) and the Barre sandstone occupy Lower and Middle Devonian time, the so-called "Bonaventure" conglomerate and sandstones of Upper Devonian Time should have a separate name to ring out their distinction as these group of Devonian strata are or well known in the vicinity of Pointe St. Peter they well be called the Pointe Peter detrital series and of continental origin. The Pointe Peter series is then the equivalent of Knidles "Bonaventure" above the fish-bearing "Upper Devonian" of Beaumenac Bay. Accordingly these fish bearing beds may not be so late in Devonian time as is usually believed, rather are of late Mid.Dev. or early Up. Dev. Above them is an erional surface and then follows the equivalent of the Pointe Peter series called by Knidle the "Bonaventure." The fish bearing beds probably go underlith through unknown strata the equivalent of the Grand River ls into the Campbelton strata that are younger than the Helduvyian now known one miles E. of Matapedia. One face in the over the entire Barre series is much different from at Mr. Barre Bay, probably less than one- half as thick.
