"Second Write in Florida"
New Haven, Conn.
Friday January 9 - 1931
Stood all day at Museum and left
New Haven at 7.47 P.M. destined for St.
Augustine, Florida. After a week in bed
attended by a doctor and nurse I am about
rested. What is left is a little of nasal sinus
infection, and it will leave after a few
days in sunny Florida. The sleeper I am
in goes through to Miami Florida, and I am
expected to land at St. Augustine Saturday
night Jan 10, at 10.10 P.M.
En route, Saturday Jan. 10 - 1931
I slept cold most of the night and finally had
to put on more clothing and add the overcoat as
it was evening. When day light came we were south of
Richmond Va., and the sun shone all the day.
Saw some snow on the ground as far south as D.C.
Train a times all day. Good dinner car, but
my Pullman car has hot for passengers more than 6-7. The train of Pullmans must be
a slight family long. We go all the way to
the Crystal Plain - the Atlantic Coast Line.
