day
Saturday, Feb 25, 1928. Jacksonville
Set up late and took life easily. Then studied
Wrick's Carey paper and made a lot of notes /pre-
paratory to writing a review of it. In the afternoon
walked around in town, and found it to be rather in
type that of the north than of the swn. labeled smith.
Drew attention by the number of hotels, large and small, but
more particular by the fact that wooden houses have
rooms for rent. But in the way of restaurants this
town is far behind New Orleans. George Washington
hotel is the newest and largest, costely goes to it,
and I tried to get into it last night but could not, all
filled.
Rained all morning. Again at night and
getting cooler.
