Saturday Dec. 31 - 1927 Nashville. The day in dark and Henry Hard with some inner train. Engineer Drell left early, and before the first time I felt comfortable in the hotel, Packed Mangfield's Prof. Papers and sent it out to him collected by Expreman. I wrote letters to Mangfield, Albert, Phel, and Le Vere. Packed up my grip and will leave on the L. & N. at 12 P. M. for New Orleans. Sunday Jan 1 - 1928. New Orleans. Got to New Orleans on time at 9.05 A. M. Then visited the Monteleone, Rose- gart, St. Charles, and De Soto hotels and concluded to put up at the last named one. I have a very large room with bath, looking east to the Mississippi River for $3.00 per day. The dinner for $1.00 is better in all America for the price. If it keeps up or good I will dare found a prize hotel. It is very cold below freezing and tonight will freeze down to about 26. Lowest about record was 18°.
