New Haven, Conn.
again on my way to Laddell and Florida. Left
on the Gulf Coast Limited at 11:57 a.m. Dentan
took me in his car to the depot. I am in
sleep 1/4, have duf, and expect to be in
Laddell Tm anow at 3.40 P.M.
Yesterday afternoon I had a letter from
Secretary Burke asking me to be at the
Cincinnati meeting of the G.S. Co. During
the evening I got into the spirit of accepting.
Then this morning I gave the letter to Miss
Lo Dane to read and wait on while I
count to her end to get my late trip. Then
I got back we talked over the invitation, and
it soon became apparent that she would
advise not to accept. Partly the main
reason was my outlining what I would say
but the main reason was the difficulty I had had on
at the banquet table. When I told her of
a very little gift to Dentan he said it would
never do for me to be away. So this I would
say if any influence in Mexico the Cin-
