Tuesday August 21-1938
A splendid, bright, cool day and at 9.30 A.M. are off for the Priests road. My old Ford loc., having been renewed and so are fit no roads excepting a few byzaran slats.
Finally are got to the Grand Coulee and found a crash out until a great hole in the gravel narrowing it considerably and the question could are get past it. Fortunately are could dig down the backwall enough to permit the car to get by the under-mired hole. Cloud had a ratchet post and he moved it into place, and so he got by safely although he had the door to the car tightly tied with a thin string, or that if he felt the car going he could jump for life, but here was no need for this.
Then are stopped four hour at the Pic de Aurora (Red Head) and Cloud climbed it and photored all around Mal Bay.
Then are climbed Mont Joli and viewed the Pierced Rock clear as hand. Next are walked
