Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1938
At 7:45 started up to top of Cadillac Mt. A cold windy but bright morning. View fine but not better than late yesterday afternoon. Too windy and cold to stay long at the top.
Left Bar Harbor at 9AM, north for Bangor, Orono, Old Town etc. Had lunch at Lincoln at noon. By 12:30 on our way further south to Houlton, Presque Isle, Caribou and Dan Buren. At latter place we arrived at 5:45 PM. Got through the Canadian Customs House by 6:15- and then put at Hotel Cgr. in St.
Leonard
Total distance traveled 264 miles. It was a windy but clear and a fine day.
Just north of Houlton the roads being widened and several dilution's are being made. Clearage known or decided with the state dipping from 25 to 400.
