New Haven, Conn. Monday August 8, 1938 Left New Haven at 9.20 A.M. with Pres- ton Cloud at the wheel of his auto to get to Portland, Maine by night. At noon we had lunch at Wolgole and by 12.30 we were again on our way. Got to Rochester N. Hampshire at 5.40 P.M. and put up at the New City Hotel. We travel- ed about 225 miles, or about 30 miles per hour. Started out at N. Haven via Route 7010 and then via 202 all the way to Rochester. It was a hot day and the auto heats of considerably, and as the car has no bottom or front openings, riding was not at all comfortable. Cloud is a careful driver and handles the old car nicely. This Old Buick das gone over 81,000 miles.
