"Lakeland March 28-1938
Monday.
Took my fare over and around
Major Lake, and dispatched the re-
mainder of my baggage. Paid my last
cost of travel and hired the servants.
All's well that ends well. Had a
pleasant winter in Lakeland and for
Ten years daily walks or talks with
Chittenden.
Togeth we start at 1.22 P.M. on
the Gulf Craft Limited. Tomorrow
growing at 8.10 expect to sit off at
Richmond, Virginia.
It's a very hot day, and my car is not
air conditioned - in consequence an uncom-
fortable trip up to Jacksonville. It showered
here. Our train at Jacksonville is made
in two sections, and Chittenden on one another
section. Retired at nine o'clock, and the
car is now cooler but still warm.
