Thursday July 8 - 1937
Left the Pike Lodge at 8 A.M.
In Highgate Centre and Highgate
Sore. Found the place as I had.
Then started for Montreal. Passed
Highgate Spring at 9.30 A.M. Did
not go into the city but crossed the great
river on the new Jacques Cartier
Bridge. Had lunch about 20 miles
cast at a road house known as The
Catering Lte - imitation log houses a
most curious amateur French archi-
tecture. The chicken dinner was good.
Then motored on cast at Three Rivers
I was a bit tired out and so concluded
to go farther. Put up at a rather
fancy French Hotel Chateau de Blois.
A very hot day riding through small
villages with individualistic small
curious homes and more curious still
strips of the door to the second floor.
