Visit to Cincinnati
in late August, 1941.
August 20.
In the morning adjusted my affairs
at the Pictory Museum, the Bank, and wrote
Loftine a long letter about her employment,
Had lunch at the Lawn Club and
then packed my luggage. At 2:55 p.m. had
a sell car take me to the depot to take
to 2:28 (standard) train into Penn Station.
Put up for the night at the Pennsylvania
Hotel.
Thursday Aug 21-1941
Left N.Y. at 9 P.M. (day light)
on
Pennsylvania R.R. for Pittsburgh. Arriving
on time at 6 p.m. Had a car take me to
Schenley Hotel in the Oakland Civic Center.
Nearby is the University, Carnegie Mus.
and a number of other institutions. All is
beautifully laid out, and is one of the best
setups many of the large American cities.
