Lakeland, Florida
Thursday April 3 - 1941
A dark and rainy morning but not cold.
Packing up to leave today at 1:31 P.M. In good health.
As we go to the train it rains almost as hard as I can have seen it do in Florida. It rained until we got to Lakeland and from then on there was one had some of the sun.
Friday April 4, 1941
When we arrived at Richmond the train was an hour and 40 minutes late, but at New Haven was 20 minutes behind the schedule. It's a fine day and almost as warm as at Washington. No snow to be seen nor any of the trees in blossom, not even the cherry trees at Washington.
