Friday Sep. 14-1934 Majog. To the W. of Majog 2-3 miles is a brook and here once stood a mill, and in the place [illegible] where the early Majog graptolites were collected. Clark has hunted there several times but never found any graptolites. The grapt. bed was probably unconformable to [illegible] of the mill was higher. From Majog (a fair large town) at the O and outlet end of the lake, we continued S. along the E. side of the lake to Geoferville. About one mile S. of Geoferville in a hill to the west of the road [illegible] of the and there where me saw what might be called a small local coal reef. This is locality No. 1. Here at the falls is ex- pounded as standing vertical displaying a single colony of Eridiphyllum about 3 feet across. Above it are several lenses of Favosites and Cyathiphyllum 4 to niches long. Below is a large mass of Halysites (have one fragment of it). Farther down stream we picked up many Stomatopora, Favosites, Lycllia? [illegible] tites, two or other kinds of fossils. This horizon is undoubtedly Middle Devonian (Oondapa), and opens onto the locality on the other [illegible] to Oule Head. Here are 2 unmistakable [illegible]
