China Pavilion. A very excellent door way now standing some distance in front of the pavilion. To the left outside a splendid out house, Both of these exhibits could be used in the ethnographic collection. Inside there are three small houses, with the fronts elaborately incised in ivory and carved. In the building to the left is a wooden scroll with three pieces of carved jade [on the waiting hells] stone. The building to the right and left are fairly alike. [China room inspection above] The layer one in the rear is large and elaborately decorated with golden dragons and much lofty chinese embroidery. China exhibits in varied Arts has con- centrated our bottle in amethyst, quartz and some jade. In another case there are quite a number of large light green jade carving, and birds. Also great piece of malachite set together to represent a canopy!
