Not till 4 o'cl. This evening he modifies his statements and says that we are not half way to Tasimale. This I think is correct I doubt if we are one third the way to Tasimale from Cape York but I think that we are nearly half way to Wilcox Head. 18th July Wednesday -- a strenuous day all night. I only hope that it has done me no harm as for K-de- clines to consider resting tomorrow. He was up and starting at minutes of 3-45 this morning + when I asked the reason for such an early start he said "No good sleep all time don't travel when there is no wind." We got started at 6 and had fine going over new sea for about 2 hrs. then it became unsafe. It was clear cloudless calm when we started but weather has been varied some wind, some fog, some squallers squally storms.
