14 April Saturday Another beautiful, calm day. Water fog to the south. Now -9.30 am. - the young men have gone on with empty kahnooties for an inspection of conditions leaving Kolooting-woq and me to hold the fort. I like a snow igloo better than a tent or some accomodation - for me thing, it is warm. m. K likes a tent better & I don't wonder for it is considerable more comfort.
Thrid an igloocah
15. Rather cold today on account of the damp wind for the promise of the early morning was not fulfilled and the fog fog was rather thick even when the boys got off. The big lead has broad-ened so that - its fog thloots as if there were much open water or water with very thin ice on it to the southward.
K came in about noon, just in time for a cup of tea. He had killed two seals and missed one but he could not land either of those that he killed. He could just throw his harpoon line over me but did not succeed in floating th near us within harpooning distance - He likes my rifle and wants me like it. Off again this afternoon.
He thinks that poor Mene is spoiled for water this region or America.
