Kolootengway pointed out ridge on wh. Coolcootoo's meteorite hole, NNE of Bush, New Ireland which seemed to satisfy him completely. and Kolootengway said was all right. Almy also got the skin & blubber of one of our seals. Feeding dogs tomorrow this evening. 10 April Tuesday. Beautiful morning with very little wind. E or ESE 2/4 at six 2'cl. Udder way about mile after two hours of fair going we got out of the maze of ice bergs lying S.E. A [illegible] & once more struck out to sea and were a- gain turned back by the lead which kept me casting in width. At 5 p.m. we stopped beside a little bay and he decided to camp here - Lead is now fully a mile wide lots of seals in it. Have had a rather hard after- noon Snowshod at least 2 hrs. of it and Kolootengway on hour or so while I rode and tried to drive. He is discouraged by the deep snow saying that what is here is nothing to what it beyond - I fear that to mor- row he may decline to go any farther. What can I do?
