23 of the celebration. Among other things, we had salmon from Konggaard- Loesnaah and roast venison from near Oomany to eat. For drinks we had Danish kummel, French Santene and some Spanish sherry and coffee. A speech was made by Dr Wueff, the reply to which fell to me to make. We did not fail to drink a toast to our absent home friends who could not know how com- fortable a time we were having in the far North. Those present were Dr Wueff, Captain Hansen, messrs Rasmussen, Koch, Niel- sen (mate) and myself; also Navrara and Sophie. We had a very good time, but separ- ated early to get back to our va- ried work. 2 April - Monday. A beautiful day, and accommodating way, Masaq and Nootkapingway were and Lizzie got away a- out soon for Esk. The first two had good loads of sugar
