one believe? K.R. sent me a box of "Alarm" cigars at Etah last winter as a gift saying that they were the "very best to be obtained in South Greenland". But I learn from the official pamphlet of the company that these are the second best, Navillu being the best and on sale at Uper- nirk when K.R. was there last winter. K.R. saddled Jobies onto last winters C.L.I. party as "inter- [?]
preter" but Ek + strut with their knowledge of northern Eskimos & their command of Danish had far less need of an interpreter than I have had. I have gotten along all right & much cheaper than they did and Ek says that he had no use for Jobies - it was a way for K.R. to get Jobies home again to Santok at the expense of the Museum for salary and transportation. This and the seemingly excessive cost of the trip of Ek + strut to Upernirk certainly have the appearance of an imposition that I much dislike to set to K.R.'s account.
