5- 1.XI. No shock. Temp 10:33, 30.5° min 23.5° New sheet on at 10:33 a.m. old sheet showed failure of magnet from 9:54 a. m., but magnet began working all right on new sheet. Con. #8 Room is at north corner of the house and has been used heretofore for the storage of meat. The boys called it the "Refrigerator". It is a part of the shed running along the southwest front and northwest side of the main house. Dimensions: 7'3" from SE to NW by 5'19" from SW to NE and from about 6' high on NW side to 7' high on SE side against the house. Floor is the solidly frozen ground, com- pised of delta- fan gravel contain- ing many pebbles and bowlders. This was leveled off approximately tan the iron feet for the instrument were imbedded in the gravel and fastened securely by freezing in by means of water poured over the ground that had been disturbed during the setting of the iron cups.
