Trip with Doug Kinney, wk August 21 Area of type Cloverly: Locality #1. Exposures W. of Beaver Cr - Bear Cr rd. opposite old Cloverly. Bedlands begin in Cloverly - no basal cql showing, much berite in concretions in float on low variegated clstu knobs in alkeli flzt. Above this the khaki-colored ss. - odd stuff, ynd then very hard clstus? look like welded tuff somewhat. Polished pebbles abundant at basal clstu along with berite. Believe base Cloverly not exposed here. Top of uzviegzed zone is contact thinly l.b siltstn +sh cvbl to liquidic sh. fine gr. ss 2.0f < siltstone, cvrb., massive to flaky light gray clzytina sot red-gray mottled clstu Fe specks. Above contact mostly sh > lc with lb silt & ss. at top some ss cemented by celelto. Then goes into blect 57
