G 492-A Continuation of section below the 1" bentonite marked A above 72 (as in last interval. Lower 2' at base many contains lenticular siltstone + limy silt with a good frequent + fish scales, Few large bone fossils in this interval. Sample of lower 2' 492-A-#5 4-6" Bentonite 18 Gray shale. 1" rusty zone at base Sample 492-A #6 64 Dark gray shale with interbedded silty shale + thin laminae of silt. Rusty streaks at 34" from base & at base. Sample 492 A # 7A upper 1/3 7B lower 2/3 (break at rusty zone 34 above base) (Dry streak) (Silty streak) 26 Dark gray clay shale. 1" bentonite (?) at base (This is compact white). Sample 492A #8 10 Black shale Sample 492A #9 Section ends here in base of chow. To first Dakota ss 124 feet at N15 to strike. Av. dip about 3o.
