are varicolored chert + quartz (Sample 1) 0.6 Shale, dk gray. 1.7 Sandstone, hard thin beds, fine & med grained, similar to above in grain constituents Shale interbeds (bottom 0.7 is gray shale) and hard argill siltstone interbedded 0.2 Coarse ss or fine cgl - with shale parting at base (Sample 2) 2.8 Sandstone, fine, gr, hard thin bedded, but with 0.5 conglomeratic ss at base 0.9 Shale, gray, clayey. 0.4 Bentonite. 1.3 Irreg. interbedded siltstone and Sandstone. SS is med to coarse & calcic, weathers rusty brown, Silt light gray 58
