Colo Spas sheet locality 2 In this area the Dakota hogback appears to be uninterrupted by faulting, but only the ss lodges stick out. Profile in vicinity of 2 = Shaly bench at B is thick locally, elsewhere thin. bench at A: fairly persistent. Northward from 2 it looks as though SS 2 becomes thinner, shaly, and lies in back slope whereas 3 remains massive & forms crest. Bear Creek roadcut - locality 3 Black shale of "Glencurn" has bentonite (with gyp) 1.3 above contact with white Lytle. Lytle at contact is conglomeratic siltstone, or SS.
