6/22/54 with Bess + Frank Pictures -- showing shelly beds equiv. to Kessler in Spring Canyon cut, with Frank standing on 2nd key marker, me on possible 1st (a gypsum zone. 6/24/54 Canon City trip with Bess Bow Creek section -- clay break in between top sandstones has ripple-marked base on the top lower ss. Little cyl. in local lens thinning to N + S. At Deedmen Canyon -- a thin bountwite-like clay rests on Kessler equivalent, may be 1st key marker. This is best outcrop where this type of section between the 2 sandstones -- assumption is that this clay = Dry Creek Canyon member but this needs proof by tracing through Camp Carson area, [44]
