The lower part of the section all along the hqbkct east of Artins consists of a lower, generally cyltc szudstone ledge overlain by as much as 30 of variegated clay; this in turn has another ss over it and locally 3rd ss in contact with it - disconformity locally visible for 1/2 mile or more. (See kedzchome on Johns camera) Near plaster mill abandoned clay plant once used either Dakota clay or Benton - no out around. Center Lake - Road to main (s.) dam. Sample 1, is siltstone between and 1.5 beneath disconf. at base 3rd ss; Sample 2 between 1.5 and 2.5 of same.
