Beuter Spelter, Contd., K. and purple, see 2 or 3 thin beds siltstone, 0.6 Sandstone, irreg. bedded czp on unit L. Dense, fine Fe impreg ss with scattered chert + qtzite pebbles to 34" diam. L 7.3 Sandstone, fine gr, dense, massive, weathes yellow to yellow brown. Local x bedding visible. Some coarse grains at very top. M. 2.2 Chiefly silty shale, weathes yellowish gray, with thin interbeds siltstu and fine ss. Sh. dk gray on fresh cut. N. 6.8 Sandstone, similar to that in L but relatively even bedding evident. Beds 0.3 to 3.0 thick with fbcl/ shale (gray silty) partings N. 30.0+ Lower part of Dekota. Here it is channel deposit showing great (later) variation in constitution + thickness within this cut. At spot measured it consists of 7 to 8 feet of interbedded fine ss in bed up to 2.0 + and silty gray + dk gray shale Lower 23+ feet is massive brown over the fine ss. Laterally lower ss thins abruptly and upper part becomes solid ss. Glencaru-Dekota O. [Note this is cut out by channeling in which ss 73' ss at N is deposited.] comes in laterally to 5 in cut.
