Sand Creek section: - notes
Bob Carpenter will send it. Where section
measured in drew only 2 foot or so of
typical Lytle, but up ridge to N, it
thickens to at least 10'; However,
it was difficult to spot disconformity
up ridge as the shale just above it
leused out up dip bringing base of
SS above it into contact with basal
Glacigern sand. Thus Lytle's upper
lens appears continuous up into Glacigary
locally, S of drew, and in it, the
calc SS above uncont can be
found, though it is not as clear cut
as at Skyline or Garbage gulch.
Only 3 bentonite-like beds seen
in Sand Cr. section, one thin one
near top and other in top bl. sh.
next above bottom Glen sh. One
