1992 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus BUCK HNHR 4 June Jim reports Feeding at the ladder hole! NOBA 9! 5 June 0900 ladder party! 3 chicks, 21 d.o., set ambush, catched 4, banded & bled 3 chicks. Tied ambush. 1430 WaH reset + waited 45 mins - nothing 1730-1930 I wait For 1399 (dried blood guy). After 1 hr, 1398 r 9 started showing up w Food, but were too scared to go in. All the time the kids were screaming For Food. I don't think they've eaten since this morning - which makes me feel like shit. At 1900 1398 Finally went all the way in, but it didn't start any trends. Maybe I shoulda gone up & Fed the kids. Didn't. Quit at 1935. I don't think 1399 or anyone will roost with the kids. Left ambusher set. Lets hope they're alive in the morning. Damn. 6 June 0600 I tied off the ambusher, camouflaged it, & Fed the kids (little ingrates, they spat out the Dog Food, even though they were hungry!). 7 June 1300 Finally caught 1399! (Grumble, grumble) 8 June 1400 Erected Feeding/watering platform. Put Food on. 7 Sept 1320-1335 Spied from Plge. Saw bird go to 92 hole! 11 Sept Val goes up for nest watch & Kid is about to Fledge! ladder party in afternoon, but too late! Kid is gone! Roost watch: no one into nest hole (ladder up several hours today) (ambush was set). 2 birds into pole hole. 12 Sept Ambush! Pole into pole hole. Took Forever getting the 2 birds out (BM, BF). Some bleed samples.
