4 May Roost watch: Looks like mate-guarding to me. 3 birds together constantly. Right before dark a 4th bird showed up, but it appeared not to be appreciated. I'll swear there's a nest in the tree uphill from the bee tree. Census mañana.
5 May Jim was supposed to census (he knew where to look for the hole). Val went instead r ended up watching activity at a group beyond the dead sycamore.
6 May Jim goes to census, doesn't get 3rd bird (Did, he goes back (grr). ditto. Argh. Hole, what hole...
7 May 1300 I go r Find nest immediately right where I thought. Took Forever to get to it r prune. 2 Fresh eggs, no chips at all (though a ♂ was tapping inside when I arrived, I set Val up for a 1430-1630 watch.
9 May Roost watch, 1 bird checked out the hole I was watching, then left. Mucho birds at the nest hole. I was watching the nest organism @ my tree Jr V report NOBA ♂ here. Also report an was chased alot on 8 May, but now he's one of the Family.
17 May 1400 Cut open hole (it's connected to the upper hole). Only 2 eggs! Both opaque. But I remember they did look Fresh on 7 May, so they'll probably hatch tomorrow! Tied up an ambush.
21 May Val reports no visits to hole in 3 hrs! Damn. Abandon?
