Starling nest in top by road. Did these guys nest last year? Is this Finch effect? I hear birds at RMUM 12 Apr 0830-0845 Watched From CV1, Saw two birds. All Flights were toward OKCO! 18 Apr 1505 Well, well, a low level power struggle. Chasing, drumming, a Few garricks, and obliviousness. And me w' no scope! 4-5 birds here 23 Apr 1410 All quiet here. Hello'd:nada. Starling nest in vertical dead limb over road. Old babies. Must die. 4 May 1830 Hello holes - nada. Starlings deposited. 10 May 0805-0835 Spied. The 2 birds were together in the granary almost the whole time (monog mate guarding?) except for 2 brief trips up the canyon (1 bird) and 2 Forays: [illegible] bird Flew out of granary, straight down CV and disappeared into/over the trees between Muff - CV&? The other bird would go only as Far as MILL. this happened twice. I don't think they have a nest. 0840-0850 Spied on DKHW-nada. (Val had seen birds here) 17 May 1500 Bird in canyon hole! 5 relatively Fresh eggs! 27 May 1215 14.5, RL=RR=9.2, LL=LF=9.2, RF=RW=9.1, r=3.5 17 June (est 13, 8, 8, 8, 4 at hatch), Banded 4 chicks.
