1994 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Road 3 - MacFlat H/NHR 2 Mar Roost watch. Jeremy watched R3 gran r saw 2 (illegible) birds go into the lower creek Facing hole. I watched at McFl r got 4 (?) birds into a new hole near the creek in a skinny snag SSW of the McFl tree. They roosted @ 1820 (see R1 For comparison). 5 Mar Cut open hole + set ambush at R3-McFl. Birds wanted in, but bark had fallen, etc, so the difference Freaked them. No one in. Will remove ambush in am. 8 Mar J roost watched. 4 birds into creek Facing gran hole. 2 (?) birds went toward new hole. 9 Mar Plugged up new snag hole w Rameling by setting R1 ambush 11 Mar Roost watch. 3 birds in, then a 4th in, then a 5th sits outside being upset (the original 4 were very hesitant). 5th Flies away, followed by a bird from the hole. Later a 4th goes in. All quiet. (On the way here I checked to see that snag hole was stuffed w lichen - it was. 12 Mar Ambush! 4 birds (BM, HM, 2 HF). Being paranoid, I bleed + release BM w/o lapping (only after performing a perfect lap on the HM do I regret this decision) Oh well, I'll compare their T+ LH levels. The HF were sexed For the First time! On my way back, I find the lichen gone From the snag hole.
