M. Stanback 1994 M Formicivorus Road One HNHR 1 Mar Well, it Finally happened... the sycamore granary Fell. still Full of acorns so it must've been recent. 1600 Returned w Walt + retrieved the pieces (except For the biggest one - which we leaned againts the trunk. We'll probably put the pieces at Pipe. 2 Mar Roost watch. Arrived (late) at 1800 to Find the birds in several of the 93 holes. They Flushed. We left. 4 Mar I don't want to talk about it.... They've now drilled 6 holes. I plugged the top (looked ricket) + bottom + set 2 ambushers in the 2nd - 3rd highest hole. Well... they wanted in the top, pulled out the leaf + went in ... 6 of them, one in the next hole down. Great! But then an intruder (?) came + tried to get in a lower hole. A bird burst out of the high hole + started chasing (like squirrels around the trunk) Of course they hit a string, the ambusher fell, he yelled, and all 6 birds Flushed + yelled. Arrrrrgh. Finally 3 came back + went in the high hole. (Oh yes, there were Fresh chips in the 2 ambushers holes) 5 Mar 0530 I pole it + don't hit it perfect. All 3 birds escape. I hate this job. 8 Mar Roost watch. Were in hole at 1755. I watched + they played musical holes til bed time. Ended up with birds in the top 3 holes (esp top ?) 9 Mar Set ambush at high hole.
