Jim pm watch. 25 Apr Roost watch: me at low hole tree (nada). Ditto for Jim at 80. 6 May 1115 RL = 4.2, LL = 3.9, egg #3 starting to pip. The babies were From eggs 1 & 2 (still wet - bloody shells) One egg infertile - 1 left it in (#4 #5) 2-1% bet 45 clutch = 5 8 May 1200 RL = LR = 10.7 = (10.4) / LL = RR = 10.5 = (10.2) RW = RF = 8.4 - 1 = (7.4) / B = ZF = 8.1 - 1 = (7.1) egg gone 14 May Roost watch: Several birds went down the hill (to w) about ½ between Gazo r CVGR. I'll look For a hole tomorrow. 1-2 birds went into the CVGR hole that's just across From the Fence hole. Were these CVGR birds? I may ambush, so we'll see. 15 May 1300 Found the hole (@ 100 m W of the road, 60m SW of BBBox 71). Ladder would be nice. Cut open, set ambush (tied off). Also set (tied) an ambusher at that CVGR-GAZO border hole. Roosting: 4-5 birds into the Gazo hole, 1 bird into other 16 May Damn, damn, damn. String got stuck on bark at both holes. Who were those 4-5 birds? There's only 4 at Gazo. Is this postdoc even do-able? I'm ready to quit.
